COLUMBIA, S.C. – A 16-year-old in South Carolina is suing the state's Department of Motor Vehicles because the agency won't allow the teen to take a driver's license photo wearing makeup.
Chase Culpepper, who was born male, regularly wears makeup and either androgynous or women's clothing. The teen does not identify with gender-specific pronouns.
I agree. I thought this was an old story though. Unfortunately, I doubt he will win. The executive branch just needs to say "nation security" and the court runs away with its tail between its legs.
Or a member of Kiss as they appeared in their early years?
did they take their driver state issued drivers licences wearing that make up? I only ask because in Florida you are not allowed to wear excessive amount of makeup, hats, or anything that would or could manipulate your natural appearance, which seems is the bases for this particular case.

It sounds as though the "natural appearance" of the teen in the story is anything *but* natural, and his/her/it's preferred appearance is rooted in a mental illness which should be treated rather than accomodated as normal. Or just refuse to grant him/her/it a license until he/she/it complies. He/She/It probably shouldn't be driving as there are enough crazies on the road as it is.

well its natural appearance is a boy, but it wants to nance around looking like Miley Cyprus or whatever. Point is, I wouldn't be allowed to take my DL picture dressed as a clown, as it is not a true representation of my appearance, and as this person is a male, looking like a female is not a true representation of his appearance either.
On a side note, the kid clearly has issues though.
