I'm curious why anyone would think that Putin would participate in a contest that wasn't fixed?

Didn't Chuck Norris learn from the best ever Bruce Lee? You know, the guy who invented his own fighting style. My money is on Chuck Norris.

Exactly. Who thinks that any instructor would actually have the balls to fail him anyway?

Frankly, I really don't know what Putin did win, but here is an excerpt from Wikipedia :

" One of Putin's favorite sports is the martial art of judo. Putin began training in sambo (a martial art that originated in the Soviet Union) at the age of 14, before switching to judo, which he continues to practice today. Putin won competitions in his hometown of Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), including the senior championships of Leningrad in both sambo and judo. He is the President of the Yawara Dojo, the same Saint Petersburg dojo he practiced at when young. Putin co-authored a book on his favorite sport, published in Russian as Judo with Vladimir Putin and in English under the title Judo: History, Theory, Practice (2004).
Though he is not the first world leader to practice judo, Putin is the first leader to move forward into the advanced levels. Currently, Putin holds a 6th dan (red/white belt) and is best known for his Harai Goshi (sweeping hip throw). Putin earned Master of Sports (Soviet and Russian sport title) in judo in 1975 and in sambo in 1973. At a state visit to Japan, Putin was invited to the Kodokan Institute, the judo headquarters, where he showed different judo techniques to the students and Japanese officials.
Putin also holds a 6th dan black belt in Kyokushin kaikan karate. He was presented the black belt in December 2009 by Japanese champion Kyokushin Karate-Do master Hatsuo Royama.]
In 2013, Putin re-introduced the GTO physical fitness program to Russia with the support of Steven SeagaL "

So, Putin holds 6th dan both in judo and in karate. And this is for real.

Really? She's a former governor, who quit, who now hawks her books. Since her reality TV show wasn't exactly Duck Dynasty. You think she's capable of kicking Putin's butt? Maybe Levi's. Possibly Todd's. For sure not Putin's.

Dang, Uncle Si could kick Putin's butt before Sarah Palin could.

impressive for putin, but;

Chuck Norris - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Norris was defeated in his first two tournaments, dropping decisions to Joe Lewis and Allen Steen and three matches at the International Karate Championships to Tony Tulleners. By 1967 Norris had improved enough that he scored victories over the likes of Lewis, Skipper Mullins, Arnold Urquidez, Victor Moore, Ron Marchini, and Steve Sanders. In early 1968, Norris suffered the tenth and last loss of his career, losing an upset decision to Louis Delgado. On November 24, 1968, he avenged his defeat to Delgado and by doing so won the Professional Middleweight Karate champion title, which he held for six consecutive years.[11] In 1969, he won Karate's triple crown for the most tournament wins of the year, and the Fighter of the Year award by Black Belt Magazine.
Norris made history in 1990 when he was the first Westerner in the documented history of Tae Kwon Do to be given the rank of 8th Degree Black Belt Grand Master.[15] In 1999, Norris was inducted into the Martial Arts History Museum's Hall of Fame. On July 1, 2000, Norris was presented the Golden Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Karate Union Hall of Fame.

When I titled this thread like this - Putin Tougher than Chuck Norris, I have just repeated the title of the article.

It looks like Putin owns them all and he successfully uses his skills in politics.
