Hardly these are the same people who supported the Vietnam War, They were John Birchers and Young Republicans. Now most are on Medicare and SS and they support big defense spending, they support more Medicare, and they oppose anything that wont benefit them. The silver lining to the Tea Party is they wont be around much longer.
The issue with the support of the tea party is nationally it is looked down upon. In congressional districts, you have more support of the Tea Party Representatives and Senators to an extent.
The Tea Party is a local movement and the precinct and district level. As long as it stays that way, the Democrats will be hampered from trying to overcome its success. The effort is centered on getting conservative, anti big government candidates in office at the local levels.
Congressional candidates are the ones who decide they will side with Tea Party ideals which are reduce government spending and regulations.
So younger ones will not take their place? How irrational.
Doubtful, maybe some due to them being suckered into believing what their grandparents tell them about the Tea Party, but their support is falling....but you keep believing it is on the rise.

That is why I say locally they aren't dead. However we wont see a Cruz or Paul as a presidential or vice-presidential nominee. Though I don't know who I would vote for if they are on a republican ticket and Hillary is on a democrat ticket.
Does anyone think that Obama's 37% approval translates into an increase of support for the party that has embraced his policies? All of those that are, and will be angry about losing their health coverage will be using their vote to protest. They know who was against Obamacare from day one, the Tea Party.

LOL, no.
Obama sucks, but if you think all of us are running to the Tea Party because of him, think again. There are other, better choices.

YOu mean, there's "Obama lite" candidates on the fringe left?
