I just don't get this. If one of 3 are on some kind of government assistance and continues to grow, then won't the majority be poor, in America, voting?

Of course those on government assistance will vote to get free services. This is tragic for America! It's no doubt our system is broken. If the poor's vote gets bigger, we will for sure be a socialistic country and will be in BIG TROUBLE!

I'm sure you are terribly upset that we aren't a plutocracy yet.

If the majority of the people of this country want socialism, then they should have socialism.

The premise of your statement is that this country's representatives actually represent the views of the majority of the people and not moneyed special interests, a notion that I find laughable.

The biggest recipients of government handouts in this country are large corporations, not poor people. Get a grip.

Maybe you should take a look at the Constitution so cherished by you conservatives for the answer...

If the majority want to use my money, and don't pay taxes, then of course the majority would want socialism...

Everyone pays taxes. Don't they? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, because many retirees paid into the system for years.

I think screens should be given. For example, asking "are you voting for ________ in order to get free stuff?" and if they answer yes, throw that vote out.
