With one major diplomatic deal now agreed upon, Iran may be on track to take a formal role in negotiations to end the Syrian civil war.

Secretary of State John Kerry announced on Sunday that the United States and other global powers had reached a deal to slow Iran's nuclear activity. That agreement, and the apparent easing of relations between the U.S. and Iran, could pave the way for Tehran to take a seat at the peace talks.

Iran Nuclear Deal May Foreshadow Tehran's Role In Syria Peace Talks
Way to go Mr. President. Diplomacy as oppposed to Neocon war drums.

Um, in case you missed it, Barack Obama was ready to go to war in Syria. He went so far as to make his case to the country, but stopped short only to give Congress it's Constitutional due process. Had it not been for Russia, you'd be asking Barack Obama why he didn't use diplomacy to avert a war, right? Or is that too intellectually honest for you?

The overwhelming majority of both liberals and conservatives were opposed to the proposed Syrian action.

You mean as opposed to lying to Congress to get a Neocon wet dream war started? Bottom line...Obama did the right thing as Commander in Chief and hence, Syria's chemical weapon cache is being eliminated and considering Iran's influence over Syria, this is another step in the right direction. If Obama had needed to rely upon Congressional support for these talks and outcomes, this would never be happening.
