The Government Employee's Insurance Company (GIECO) declares in it's recent ad that the Tea Party is over, echoing the myth being put forth by the Democrat controlled media. But is that the message being sent? Or, is it a deeper more subtle message?
I can attest that the TEA party isn't over, even if the liberal media and establishment Republicans think it is. It isn't over until we say it's over, we who believe in our Constitutional Republic as founded and intend to defend it and restore it.
So, what is the message in this ad?
"[i]n associating the "end of the party" directly with Boston Harbor, the cute little gecko may have overstepped his bounds. This goes beyond the modern American Tea Party, which has no connection, beyond symbolically, to Boston Harbor and directly to the great American experiment in self governance that can be said to have started at Boston Harbor.
The experiment that resulted in the constitutional republic that, with all its fleas, remains to this day unparalleled in the world. The one that every elected official in the land, Democrats and President Obama included, have sworn an oath to protect and defend.
And this is what we've come to in the age of Obama. The declaration of the end of the great American experiment in self-governance by a cartoon character with a foreign accent representing a corporation who owes its existence and continued success to big government, declaring an end to all that generations of American patriots have fought and died to defend.
I don't patronize GEICO and if I did, needless to say, I wouldn't any longer."

Like any political movement, the Tea Party will be over when the majority of Americans decide it's over. And they have:
Fewer Americans now describe themselves as supporters of the Tea Party movement than did at the height of the movement in 2010, or even at the start of 2012. Today's 22% support nearly matches the record low found two years ago.
Marcus Ebenhack now refuses to do business with GEICO.
He wasn't a customer in the first place, but still, this is a powerful message coming from someone like Mr. Ebenhack.
Stay tuned to see if GEICO survives
It's always interesting to see what comes out of the woodwork when a conservative starts a thread on this forum, which is dominated by leftist "Think Progress" sycophants.
I doubt you could understand the reason for the writers criticism of the mentioned ad. Not only are leftists clueless about what this country is about, being the "good" socialists that you are, you really couldn't care less. You are more interested in destroying all vestiges of our constitutional republic and replacing it with statism, what "Progressivism" is all about.
The Geico ad was posted on Youtube on November 22 three weeks before Boehner threw the Tea Party overboard. The Tea Party though has been the Democratic Party's best friend. The Tea Party "jumped the shark" with the shut down and it exposed them for the paper tigers that they are.. John Boehner's Budget Outburst Shows Right-Wing Groups Have Jumped The Shark
The letter to the Danbury Baptists coined the phrase. Jefferson didn't mean it in the way it has been interpreted. It was not meant to be established as a point of law, and abused and misconstrued as the anti-religious left has been using it.
But, I'll take the advice of the post above. Arguing with idiots is a waste of time.
Harry Reid "shut down" the government, along with Barack Obama, because they refused to compromise. Reid had a choice. He chose to shut it down.
Unfortunately for the tea party, the majority of Americans do not agree with this premise.
