LOL have you been car shopping in DFW recently? They're not all Christians. I bought my last car from an Iranian.
At least you bought your car in Texas. Word is if you bought a car in Cali like Beverly Hills; your salesperson might've been an Iranian too and he'd probably be Jewish.
Blue Laws have everything to do with religion, specifically the Christian religion, and Blues Laws exist in all 50 States.
Then why is it thought that it's so important to single out cars to ban their sales on Sunday? With the possible exception of liquor stores required to be closed as well, people can buy about anything they want on Sunday, unless the store where they want something voluntarily closed on Sunday, like Chick Fil-a. That's the way it should be in a really free country as a businessman, which is exercising your personal freedom when to be closed and not doing it because the government thinks it knows best when to do that.
There are six other days to buy a car, and most dealers are open late for your convenience.
Exactly. I remember being at a dealership till damn near 11 o'clock once getting some paperwork signed while the guys were prepping the car.
I guess people are gonna die if they can't buy cars on Sunday even though the rest of the week is available.
Besides, can't people just be happy that car salesmen get a freakin' day off? Geez, they work ALL DAY 6 days a week. How often do you want them to work?
Some of these blue laws are senseless, but the community voted for the people that sustain such laws so there's not much you can say if the people want them enforced.
Other than that, the only thing you can do is not move to a place that has laws like that. I know i wouldn't.

Welcome to how GOP/evangelical land runs. Sunday is "jesus day"
Actually, there is no connection. These laws are supported by Dems as well. And many of these laws have nothing to do with Sunday. For example, there are laws that tell a bar when they can open. Maybe those are Democrat laws on Mohamed days.
But you know that and choose to make a juvenile post anyway.
Sunday closing exist in most of Europe for quality of life reason, not religious purposes as Christians are indeed allowed to work/shop on Sundays. Nearly all of America used to be shut down on Sundays decades ago but has changed unfortunately.
The reasons here and in Europe are the same and there are thousands of these laws which have nothing to do with Christianity and Sunday.
There should be NO laws regarding when I can open my business. Government should not regulated business days or hours.

That is certainly true. Blue Laws are supported by both Democrats and Republicans, and not all Blue Laws involve business hours of operation on Sundays. However, there is always a religious component behind every Blue Law, and every Blue Law involves some sort of restriction.

I'm not so sure about that. State and local governments should have some say about business hours.
