The New Jersey state Senate has approved a bill that would require the state Health Department to issue a new birth certificate for people who have completed the clinical process of altering their gender.

The bill would require a new birth record for people who have undergone “clinically appropriate treatment for the purpose of gender transition, based on contemporary medical standards, or that the person has an intersex condition.

Respecting all citizens? What a crock. If I was transgender I'd be completely ticked off that I was being used as a pawn by NJ's Democratic state senate in an attempt to derail a potential presidential bid by Christie.

Ha, its more like being classified who they truly are and not what a doctor thought they might be.

It has nothing to do with respect or discrimination. If you're biologically male, you're male. Period. Surgery and hormone therapy doesn't change your Y chromosome to an X.

Accommodating transgenders is one thing, but altering their birth certificate? That's just wrong. Literally.

How do you alter an existing birth certificate? Even Obama could not get away with that.

I would certainly hope so, especially if he intends to run for President. It would not be wise for him to approve it, and side with a small minority of sick individuals.

I was going to say the exact same thing. Born male, you ARE male PERIOD! Same with female. If things like this are the most important thing for the Left, we are really in for a rough ride as a country because this displays their sheer lack of common sense and caring for the really important things. No jobs? Who cares, I can get my BC changed! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No jobs? Who cares! Atleast I can marry my homosexual lover! We will both be living on the street but who cares!
