Could you give some of the facts? I clicked on the website, but it was so long I could not find the article you are referring to.
Anything that poses a significant risk comes with guidelines, regulation, and consequences. What's your point OP?
That is my question. I imagine that it is true that more children die each year by drowning (especially the very young) than are killed by guns. However, to compare the two seems rather pointless. The drowning's are usually the result of negligence by the parents, the gunshots due to malignant people (or also negligent people). I do not recall any 'mass drownings' of children, although I can certainly name mass killings of children (here and in other countries).
I also imagine that more children are killed each year by bee stings than by lightning. What conclusions can we draw from that?
The far left will stop at nothing to try a different angle to make guns look bad. The fact is its not about gun safety its not about keeping guns out of criminals hands, its about getting rid of guns form the public. They think no one but cops and military should have guns and even some far far leftists think they should not have them. I never buy the idea that a leftist just wants "common sense"gun laws. LOL Its like saying Kim Jung Un just wants better living conditions for his people. LOL

Lets be clear...who started this thread? How was any liberal trying to make guns "look bad"? The OP gave you a venue to spout...You happy now?

Actually, there have been mass drownings in history .. Andrea Yates also comes to mind, as does Susan Smith
Quote:
The Drownings at Nantes (French: Noyades de Nantes) were a series of mass executions by drowning during the Reign of Terror in Nantes, France, that occurred between November 1793
and February 1794. During this period, anyone arrested and jailed for not
consistently supporting the Revolution, or suspected of being a royalist
sympathizer, especially Catholic priests and nuns, was cast into the Loire and drowned on the orders of Jean-Baptiste Carrier, the representative-on-mission in Nantes. Before the
murders ceased, as many as four thousand or more people, including innocent
families with women and children, lost their lives in what Carrier himself
called "the national bathtub
