Ok, how about
$7.85 + $2.15 = $10.00

Where will the $2.15 come from if not higher costs?

I don' think you are going anywhere with this.

That would be a 10% increase.

If minimum wage was tied to inflation, we would have seen about a 1-5% increase just about every year. If you want to tie minimum wage to inflation, that is fine with me. Set it at 1968 value and go from there.

So when the economy collapsed, you think people should have had their hourly wages cut? How can we cut hourly wages, but spend more, thus helping the economy improve?

Your economic theories are completely histerical..

Your chart isn't useful in this argument because inflation at macro level is a complex issue. Many factors can drive the inflation.

At the micro level, companies will try to protect their profit margin one way or another. I already told you many times, they will do some or all of the following:
1. Increase price
2. Lay off
3. Use more automation
4. Move business elsewhere

Option 1 will be reflected as inflation and Option 2-4 will be unemployment. I am not saying there won't be any oddball businesspeople who would swim against the tide but any reasonable businesspeople would take these actions. Basically you, the minimum wage supporters, are screwing with yourselves and screwing the rest of country in the meantime.

I am not sure why you can't see that. I do want to point out that the politicians know this too well. They are just counting on your ignorance to gather votes for themselves. They don't care about you or the country, not one bit!

public schools have dumbed us down to be mindless employee drones.

how many of us used to have a paper route (check) or mowed lawns (check) or shoveled snow (check) to earn money outside school? now kids wait for an employer to hire them?

I got news for ya. Those at the top are already laughing. And you want to bow to their bidding. The top has already taken our jobs and lowered the median income of our country and you want to keep feeding that monster.

About time you finally admitted that many factors can drive inflation.

No, now the newspaper companies have gotten rid of community paper carriers and replaced them with adult motor route carriers who will deliver 300 or 400 papers. Lawn mowing has been taken over by lawn care companies employing adults. Those same companies will also shovel your snow.
