Fort Bragg Infant Death Toll May Climb to Twelve - ProPublica
"A 12th infant apparently has died of undetermined causes in military housing at Fort Bragg, N.C., and investigators are now trying to determine whether the death is linked to fumes from contaminated drywall or some other environmental problem in the home.

"Last month, federal officials declared that 11 earlier infant deaths were not caused by environmental contaminants, but they did not suggest any alternative causes. . . But the CPSC’s investigation has been criticized by drywall experts, who say that the test the agency used –known as an elemental sulfur test—doesn’t actually measure the amount of sulfur gasses coming off the board. They said that another test, known as a chamber test, should have been used.”
This is unbelievably tragic. And to add insult to injury, the Army called in CPS and had the other children of the latest family whose infant died, removed from their care for 4 days while they were investigated!

I know it's all speculation at this point, but there seems little doubt that there's either some kind of cover up going on, or some reason the Army has for not doing everything possible to test the environment in the housing.

What did the Coroner determine was the cause of death? Respratory failure? Allergic reactions? Suffication?

And 'government health care' has what to do with this horrible tragedy?

A terrible tragedy, and i would want answers, if one of my babies had died.

Funny how they really weren't trying to find out what it is. It does seem like some kind of mold in the one house.

If I lived at that housing I would be packing about now.

The government has very likely to have provide care for the families.

Elaborate, and I'm sure you can considering the authority with which you've spoken.

The babies didn't die from lack of healthcare, government or otherwise. This is a rather odd connection to attempt to make.

They haven't determined a cause of death yet. That's the problem. And it appears as if the government isn't acting in good faith in attempting to determine the cause, either.

Mold is a definite possibility. From one of the comments below the article:
"This is very scary having been stationed (my husband is Army) at Ft Bragg and living in on-post housing in the Ardennes and Bougainville neighborhoods. The mold there was HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE…especially in the Bougainville neighborhood in the older townhomes."
The comments section is more interesting than the article.
