If there was a large population of immigrants where people speak Arabic where it would could be a potential benefit to do a structure immersion program to help smooth basic instruction - I would be fine with that
Although, I don't know what is worse - giving an Arabic person enough knowledge where they learn how to build bombs or cutting them off from education and opportunity so they want to build bombs .................. (that's sarcasm folks - this isn't a political fright story - it's an education story)
I see nothing wrong with learning another language. Learning Spanish has helped me get jobs. However if it's a situation where we are catering to people who can't speak English then nope. I think public schools should go back to teaching science, math and English. Private schools can do what they want.

"Catering" denotes a wish to do. The Supreme Court has affirmed that all children should have a public education.
If Spanish speaking children are a reality in our schools, then it is not a luxury but need to deal with these students' total education.
yea and i wish i had that coming up. i took a coupel years in high school, but never built it up starting at a young age.
i never understood white conservative males apprehension towards diversity outside of them just wanting everything to be white.
What a ridiculous remark. Like it or not English is our national de facto language. Diversity? How is just teaching Spanish as a foreign language "diversity"?
I think math and science immersion would be better, but that's just silly old me.
I agree. There are a lot more important things that native English speakers could be learning than some foreign language. Spanish is only being pushed because of so many Spanish speaking illegals here and other Hispanics that refuse to use English as their primary language of usage ever. Thus non-assimilation.

Gee, and that wouldn't be because their parents are here illegally now would it? Naw.
