I don't understand why anyone would let their sexuality define them. I'm sorry, but being homosexual or heterosexual is not who someone is. Your character is what defines you. Unfortunately, many people have lost the ability to utilize critical thinking skills. Homosexuality adds no value, so at the end of the day, why celebrate a man who declares he enjoys sleeping with men?
What does "character" mean to you? Is honesty a component of it? Because "coming out" is about honesty. Being honest with yourself, and with the people around you. "Coming out" is a demonstration of character, a very brave demonstration. Celebrating honesty and bravery is a good thing. And honesty and bravery have a tremendous value to society. While you seek to diminish someone because of their sexuality (don't deny it, that's what your last sentence shows, with great clarity), others see a bigger picture. Michael Sam came out and told the world he will not hide who he is, he will not lie about it, no matter if it potentially costs him a successful career as a professional football player.
Who really wants to hear about anyones sexual deviant behavior? Keep it to yourself. Homosexuals have an appetite for abnormal sex encounters. So who wants to know?
You must have safe search set on your Google cause there is a lot of abnormal sexual encounters going on with straight people.
Do you get your panties in such a twist whenever the media reports that some super star or athlete is getting married to their opposite sex partner?
If not, why don't you just rest your precious little head, "Christelyn," and save us from judgments of what - in your ming - "adds value" or does not.
Isn't she allowed to voice her opinion, just as you did?
It's always the same with people who proselytize about gayness; believe as I do or you're a moron. Intolerance, thy name is legion.

You make it sound like being gay is an undesirable condition, an abomination even and a moral failing that one must confess to the world to be a person of true character. I don't see the need to mention it at all.

Grasping for anything ..very weak ... it is quite normal for people to have red hair or write with their left hand.. having sex with the same sex is not normal at all. It is an activity that is abnormal to the masses.
It IS quite normal for some people to be attracted to the same sex. Homosexuality has been around for as long as humans have been around. And, yes, writing with your left hand is abnormal to the masses as most people are right handed.
I'm sorry that you can't deal with reality, but you'll learn to cope with people being different than you are.
