That's all this is about.
I live in a state the GOP expects to swing to them. If they do this, and its not a done deal I will be voting third party once again.

I don't see the GOP winning the senate. They'd have to win 6 seats.

Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia are the realistic chances for the GOP.

Huh? You say they won't win the Senate....but then show us states that could propel the GOP to a Senate majority. What gives?

GOP is a joke: House GOP Abandons Debt Ceiling Demands

Well gee, when the GOP stuck to their guns the liberals and their liberal-controlled press accused them and them only of shutting down the government. When it was just as much the Dems fault. If they shut down the government again, the liberals and their press are NOT going to take any responsibility. They think that everything they do is gilded with gold (WRONG!). That is their adolescent "it is not our fault, we do no wrong" attitude.

They are doing that with Obamacare even though not a single Republican voted for it.
Somehow all the wrongs of Obamacare are blamed on the Repubs.

The point is that if the GOP does sweep the at-risk seats then they can win the Senate but that's somewhat of a longshot.

There is also the GOP senator from NJ or thereabouts that is almost certainly going to lose.

So really, they need to win 7 and lose 1 to net +6.

I think they will win at least 4 of the 7 and personally feel they will net around +5, not enough to take the senate but pretty close to it.

Wiki has a good summary of the 2014 senate midterms citing 3+ different polling organizations.

Not completely true. They've also been blaming the insurance companies for gouging people that got increases....after passing Obamacare citing all the consumer protections that would be put into place etc.....while at the same time taking credit for the expanded benefits, better coverage etc.

So, in short you have mandated additional benefits, no lifetime max, no refusal etc etc etc. but if your price went up....it's because of gouging. Talk about taking credit for the positives while ducking all responsibility for the higher associated costs.

Structually the party is at its weakest point I can ever remember. Boehner is weak and the party is split in half. Can't even get a vote on a position that they had leverage going in on. Pathetic party.
The conservative party is very, very extreme, that is why things that were just normal business of the government that didn't receive much press coverage become these huge controversies.

The farm bill, passing a budget, lifting the debt ceiling were all routine government activities that had some political grandstanding from time to time, but they weren't ever really threatened to pass.

Now because conservatives are so radical, they can't do the normal functions of the government. The conservative party is post public policy at this point.

Besides being for cutting taxes for rich people/corporations, anti abortion, anti-union, anti-Obamacare, anti-sharia law, anti-voter, and anti-immigrant legislation, oh yeah pro letting guns be everywhere legislation, I have no idea what anyone sees in the conservative party.
