Companies in Texas making semiconductors, telecommunications devices, computers, and other items shipped more than $45 billion in products to other countries in 2012, according to a report by the TechAmerica Foundation, a lobbying and advocacy firm representing the technology industries.

California exports were worth $44.8 billion in 2012, down nearly 3 percent from the previous year.
Can't say I'm surprised. The insane costs of living and doing business in California is forcing people out of that state in droves.
Good for Texas. I actually want to see it progress. Maybe the influx of tech companies and californians will change it a bit. It need to be moderate and find a healthy balance of the two competing states.
Good job, Tex.

It doesn't seem like the right has considered that the influx of educated tech workers also means an influx of voters who don't vote for authoritarian stupid.
It presents a real dilemma for Texas Tea Party types. More foreigners entering Texas could tilt Texas to the left in 2016. Maybe its time for Texans to crank out the printing presses and bring out the old "Gut Shoot Em At The Border" that were so popular in Montana and Idaho. Its very well possible Texas could go socialist by 2020 without strong actions to disenfranchise future voters moving in. What do you think? How about a five year residency requirement?
