Kennedy believes there is "an epidemic in this country of epic dimensions when it comes to alcohol and drugs.” He'd like to treat it all, but he’s convinced that the single biggest threat to America’s mental health is free-market marijuana. So even as Democrats favor the legalization of pot—by a 34-point margin, according to the latest WSJ/NBC News poll—the scion of America’s most famous Democratic family has broken ranks, criticized the White House, and aligned with the likes of Newt Gingrich to warn voters against trying to tax and regulate today’s psychoactive chlorophyll.
Personally I think marijuana is as bad as alcohol and likely to eliminate many as insurable workers. Being a child of the 60's I have seen it effects like alcohol on lives.like nayhting the log term effects are not really known.
Holy hell.......a KENNEDY is speaking out against drugs and alcohol?
Did I suffer a concussion this morning? Or did the person that hijacked Donna Brazile's Twitter account somehow possess Patrick Kennedy's body?
I never thought I would see this day, but I'm going to agree with him. We ALL know the long-term effects of alcohol, and none of them are pretty. What we DON'T know much about are the long-term effects of pot.
I'm a live and let live kind of person, and I neither drink nor do drugs (legal or illegal). But I honestly feel that Kennedy is right -- we could be paying a heavy price for this decision 25 years from now.
Ah, so this is a "redemption" move...something to keep himself on the straight and narrow and put the blame for his own shortcomings onto society.
IDK it could be that, but recovering addicts I have met rarely have ambiguous opinions on drug laws. They tend to be whole hog for or against. Personally I think there are lots of reasons marijuana should be legal and the pros of legalization certainly outweigh the cons.
I think pot should be illegal again in my state because it would **** my entire state off, and I'd love to see that, sorry.
I don't understand you and those who think like you. It's like you're stuck in perpetual adolescence. Not sorry.
