Walmart pays its employees such a low wage that they are forced to also go on public assistance. Who pays for that public assistance? We all do. If Walmart would just pay its workers a decent wage then we wouldn't have this problem.
Please tell me what what company pays their cashiers enough to keep a single parent with two children off of food stamps? Do you think a single mom of with two dependent children working as a cashier at Target or your local mom and pop store would earn enough money to not need food stamps?

If you need more money to support your family, learn a skill that demands a higher wage. Don't blame Walmart.

Yes, and when I grocery shop it is about ME!

You sure got that one wrong ! Its obvious you know very little about how business works. Wallmart is the largest retail in the world. When they decide to zero in to a community they do so with a plan to take over the market share of an entire county ( rural America ) .They do this with two things , predatory pricing , ( selling below cost in order to capture all the market in the area) Once they have done this and put all the local retail stores out of business, people then have no other place to go to buy that product, and , WallMart can charge any amount they want, be cause they are the only Market selling.

So , yes as you stated , the people flock to the Wallmart because they have no other place to go., Wall Mart MADE THIS HAPPEN. Now , look what has happened to the downtown , all boarded up stores, all the people who owned and worked those stores are now working for Wallmart cause thats now the only game in town. Once again , and this is number 2, WallMart now can set the price they pay employees. To them its good for business ,employees can't live on the company store ( WallMart Bucks ) pay so they apply for Government assistance, which comes from our tax dollars. WallMart knows this is wrong, they know out front their workers will get second jobs and or from the Government , that is how they set the amount they will pay the workers. Its all a part of the business plan , been going on a long time, they have destroyed many a community and small towns across America.....Your right wing talk can not cover up what Wallmart has done and you can not make it right with out joining in on the fight to demand a living wage to ALL employees, by upping the minim wage for everyone all across America.

First, I am not a left-winger. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Second, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Target are synonymous for "cheap crap." I would have to be dead for three days before anyone could drag my body into one of those stores. I avoid them like the plague.

I found myself turning around once in a Wal-Mart parking lot and felt so sullied I had to drive home immediately and take a shower. It was the worst experience I ever had.

and you are a probable candidate for under tipping the waitress, or not leaving one at all ! Furthermore all tips now must be pooled and divided among the workers., including the person at the till , who, most likely is the owner or one of the wait staff.

Many of the things they sell at "those stores" are the same things you would buy at all the other stores you shop at, they just cost less.

Do you tip your cashier at the grocery store?

The Walmart Cheerleaders are not the party of the right or left but Neo Global Fascists.

They love any form of economic system in other countries if they can profit off of it and not have to pay for it (Communism, Dictatorships, Socialism, Fascism etc) but cry foul about any inkling of it in our system for the little people unless it is to benefit them and their cronies.

They cry when the mention of raising minimum wage is spoken and say people are paid based on market conditions and then turn around and support illegal immigration and cheap labor abroad to keep the wages down.

These type of people are the worst humanity has to offer. There is nothing to debate or discuss with these types of people.

The political risks to the GOP of immigration were highlighted in Cary, N.C., last week, when a PR. event hosted by GOP Rep. Renee Ellmers quickly descended into an extended complaint by business leaders about supposedly uneducated, untalented and unmotivated Americans.

The videotaped session was arranged by business leaders to applaud Ellmer’s support for a proposed immigration rewrite that would increase the current annual inflow of 650,000 guest workers and 1 million immigrants into the overflowing U.S. labor pool.

Quote:
But the business and government advocates for increased immigration quickly stripped down to the basics — they want to hire low-cost foreign workers, mostly in place of Americans.

“There’s just not a lot of folks … that are willing to go back and do jobs that need to be done,” said Scott Schaberg, the director of company relations for the Golden Corral restaurant chain.

“I’m just going to go ahead and say it — Americans won’t do that work, and for what [employers] can get those other [immigrant] folks to do it,” said Dana Cope, who heads an advocacy group for government employees, the State Employees Association of North Carolina.

These people believe that everyone should be subject to market conditions but themselves where they make the markets to bend to their whims.

All you seem to say is the right wing talking points sheet they handed to you. The state of the Nation is many times greater than it was when GWB left town. Today there is a shortage of skilled workers all across America, you can not blame Obama for that.MFG is running at a fast pace, business is good, just look at the reports from the MFG sector. Many jobs go unfilled and they are blue collar jobs too that pay well.

So you claim.

I do not for a second believe they are the same. These stores are big enough, Wal-Mart in particular, to demand that manufactures provide them with even cheaper crap than would normally be sold at other stores.

The adage "you get what you pay for" clearly is lost on Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Target shoppers.
