In order to have that discussion it would actually have to be happening which it isnt, therefore we are back to you being a liar.

One can call Hitler a great public speaker, but that is not the same as praising him. I realize it takes critical thinking to understand concepts such as this.

Yourself and the leftist pundits making these pathetic Putin-love claims either ignore this fact in a continued effort to demonize your fellow Americans, or choose not to use critical thinking.

Either way, you all continue to look more and more desperate and ridiculous.

In other words, conservatives appreciate authoritarianism? Would it be better not to have a democracy, then? Hardly a surprise, I guess, when one considers how conservatives frequently try to subvert the democratic process, either by purging voting rolls, enacting laws that make it tougher to vote, appointing judges who allow money to disproportionately influence the political process, and try to reverse election results through recalls and impeachments if they lose. It's hardly a surprise that conservatives admire Putin - they envy him.

Well here is the thing. Russia has always been what the Republicans what the wanted the US to be. In the Soviet Union under Communism the teaching of evolution was banned. Pornography was illegal, gays were sent to concentration camps to be taught to be straight. The state was the church. In many ways the Red State Russians were the Conservative Utopia. And today it is even more the Republican utopia. So Republicans should immigrate to Russia post haste!

There certainly is a growing trend going on lately.

Three months ago, Americans for Putin, a Facebook group, sprang up "for Americans who admire many of the policies and the leadership style of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin."

Earlier this year, when Putin supposedly caught—and kissed—a 46-pound pike fish, posters on Free Republic, a major grassroots message board for the Right, were overwhelmingly pro-Putin:

There seems to be an "about face" movement among conservatives regarding Russia.

Quote:
During the Cold War, the term “useful idiot” described Westerners who functioned as apologists for the Soviet Union. No matter how unjustifiable the behavior.
Quote:
In recent years, post-Soviet Russia has cultivated a new breed of no-less gullible useful idiots among a seemingly unlikely constituency: paleoconservatives.
Quote:
For the paleocons, Putin evokes the values that made America great, before the disasters of multiculturalism and cosmopolitanism wreaked their havoc on American society. Writing in the current issue of the American Conservative, the magazine Buchanan founded, William Lind faults Americans for not failing to take off their Cold War goggles and realize that Russia no longer presents a threat to the Western way of life

I haven't seen Fox News praising Putin. My brother likes Putin much more than Obama and is hoping we will trade up for him and pawn off Obama....he's willing to kick in a few hundred thou in the trade.

I admit I'm impressed that Putin can use his pawns to run circles round Obama's queen, bishops, knights.
