As for me, Yes, I support abolishing the U.S. Senate because its principle of two seats for each U.S. state is undemocratic.

I am open to reforming the U.S. Senate to make its seat appropriation for each U.S. state be done in the same method as is currently done for the U.S. House of Representatives. However, I think that abolishing the U.S. Senate would be better than this option, considering that what exactly is the point of wasting taxpayer money on having two versions of the U.S. House of Representatives when we can have only one version (the actual U.S. House of Representatives).

Darn it! I wanted to make a poll here. Oh well--accidents happen.

And for the record, I support allowing U.S. states to secede from the Union if this secession of theirs is approved in a free and fair referendum by the voters of these U.S. states.

One purpose of the Senate is to support the doctrine of "rule of the majority, with protection of the minority." Another purpose is to give equal say to each of the states, as independent governing bodies, although this was more applicable back when senators were appointed as opposed to elected.

No, I do not support abolishing it.

I didn't ask whether it would ever happen.

Oh, and never say "Never".

How about Eliminate the U.S. Department of Education, which spends billions on education and educates no one. The growth of this agency and its numerous regulations is a major reason for runaway costs in American schools.

No, I don't want that, then we end up like Canada...highly populated Quebec sucks from the state moneyteat while saying they want independence, while the least funding per capita goes to the western provinces who actually produce most of the wealth for the country.

No. That isn't equitable or right.

The Senate can go at anytime. Why should a handful of sparsely populated states have 10-12 Senators while heavily populated states have only 2. That`s as undemocratic as it gets.

I believe each state only gets 2 U S Senators, there are only 100 of them.
