Let me throw my head back and laugh at all you white people ranting and proving this girl's point. As a person of color; you cannot discuss race with whites. All ya'll do is throw up that race card BS and try to minimize our issues.
I'm a white person, and I've tried discussing racial issues with black people a few times. Invariably, all I ever got in return was some rant on slavery and Jim Crow -- never mind that the speakers were all too young to have ever personally experienced those things -- and/or "blacks can't be racist because we don't have power." I even had one -- and keep in mind, this was someone with whom I was on friendly terms -- get upset with me for using "you all" as a plural of "you," supposedly because it was some kind of "white-code" for condescension and oppression.
Perhaps it won't surprise you that I will no longer discuss racial issues with any black person, with the occasional exception of on an anonymous Internet forum.

And rather than change the invitation they cancelled the happy hour.
It was no "mistake". They didn't want White people at their party.
so what? you are one of the ones always going on about how white shsould be able to only hire other whites and associate with only whites if they want to. these kids do that and you suddenly change your tune.

Not me but go ahead and personally attack me if it makes you feel better.
Minority students should be able to get together to discuss issues without the presence of whites. I see nothing wrong with this.
Nor do I, if they want to do so of their own accord. (Though, by excluding members of a certain race, their gathering will by definition be less "diverse" than it otherwise could have been.) AND, if white people would be similarly able to gather on their own without fear of being labeled racist or discriminatory.
What I object to is that this gathering was an officially sanctioned function of the college -- a public institution funded by the taxpayers, all of them, including the white ones. Oh, I also object to the implicit assumption that the reverse could not happen; that white people would not be similarly free to get together to talk about their issues, without the presence of "people of color."
mature response. Thanks for trolling in the process proving our point. Good Riddance!
Trolling??? I've been here for a while and got the rep and awards to prove it. I've just learned over my years here that somethings aren't worth debating. Lets be honest, I'm going to to counter your points with how it's better to discuss race issues among minorities and you're going to tell me I'm wrong and hypocrite. Than eventually we'll all lead to name calling and someone [most likely me] will receive an infraction and you will will pat yourselves on the back and go on about your lives. Been there; done that.

Go to your ritzy country club and tell me how many people of color are there.
