This is liberal hypocrisy at its finest. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has turned into a national joke.

You have a fundamental right laid down by our Constitution to vote.

you do not have a fundamental right to attend an event being sponsored by a non governmental organization.

Its only hypocrisy if the situation is the same or to a worse degree.

American citizens have a fundamental right to vote. Is it wrong to ask for proof of citizenship before granting that right?

No, but the argument put forth by the Republican party is that there is a need to do so. There is no proof to back up their claims, there for, they are simply adding an extra burden on to those who are the poorest among us for political benefit.

How is asking for a simple photo ID to vote a burden?

I have a hard time believing that. Most states that have ID laws allow for free or very low cost to get ID's prior to elections. If it is the law and voting groups are afraid people won't have transportation to get a photo ID or resources to obtain birth certificates, then why not offer help to get the requisite documents in order to be eligible? They have done it for years with get-out-the-vote projects and voter registration.

How are these poor people able to live without the proper ID in the first place? Don't they need ID to get a job, cash a paycheck, open a bank account? It seems like MOST poor people probably already have ID, so the actual number of folks having a hard time with that is small enough that a get-out-the-vote project like this would be feasible. You make it seem like poor people are completely helpless, when I refuse to believe that.

And how come liberals are always saying there is no proof to back up claims of voter fraud? There are plenty of cases that do back up the claim.

when i registered to vote you told me you needed my id and i provided it.

im registered to vote, which means i shouldnt have to keep producing my id once im registered in the system.

voter id is the white conservative males way to attempt to keep down the vote.

what it actually ended up doing in '12 was the polar opposite, more blacks voted as a ratio to there population then whites.

and now you dont hear voter id talk anymore suddenly.

Because people who dont drive dont need photo ID's.

for them to get one, they have to pay the cost of the ID, the cost of travel to the DMV and take off from work.

What about the ACORN scandal a few years back, them filling in false information on voter registration cards? What about politicians in South Texas bringing people from Mexico to vote? Why do you think the phrase "Vote Early, Vote Often," actually came into the lexicon in Chicago? There are documented cases. I know they say it's a drop in the bucket, but when the country is so evenly divided and elections are won by so few votes it does matter.

If voting is important to them and the law states one must have an ID to do so, then I would suppose they would do those things. Other countries require ID to vote. It's not an outlandish proposition.
