Said with a mighty harrumph. Stay on the sidelines. Adults talking here.

As you can notice, Texas is roughly the same compared to other states. If tort reform was so great, one would expect their costs to be lower than average, wouldnt it?

The CBO is projecting that 10 years from now we will still have 30 million uninsured Americans and that that number could be higher with immigration.

2.7 Trillion for that?!?! It is a well intentioned, but poorly thought out law.

You turned over the health insurance system to bureaucrats in Washington and got raped like an ape for doing so.

Let me guess, your answer to fixing the actual healthcare system is to turn it over to the bureaucratic machine in Washington so you can see what happens...

Still waiting for the 30, 46, 49 million uninsured people to show their faces. Best guess so far is 1 million have signed up and the worst case is 10% of the 4 million didn't have insurance before the UACA, 400,000.

Twelve million? What happened to the other 37,000,000? Don't you care about those people now?

The previously uninsured are likely to disagree with you.
It does take control. People now owe something to the government. The government is forcing people to purchase something or else they will pay a penalty.

Pre-ACA the IRS had nothing to do with health insurance.

Most of the people insured through the ACA are on Medicaid (not paying for it). It just puts more of a burden on the makers and they are starting to resent the takers just a little bit more (ask the people whose premiums and deductible tripled in order to pay for other people's insurance).

If my husband and I were forced into this program, our insurance would go from 150 a month, to 300, the deductible from 500 a year to 7000. We are lucky we have insurance through work (for now).

You need to put it in perspective plus your numbers are wrong. ACA spending is estimated at $1.36 trillion from 2014-2023. Medicare spending will be $7.93 trillion. Medicare will cost almost 6 times as much while covering twice as many people. You could say Medicare is costing 8 trillion dollars while only covering 52 million...government take over of health care, millions still uninsured, etc.

No, they won't be paying a penalty. I suggest you catch up on your reading. There are many sources available to educate you.

You all realize that most of the big insurance companies are public and report totol enrollment in public filings. Analysts are watching the numbers closely.
