Grassley is a Senator in our state who actually represents the state.
The leaving Democrat Senator, Tom Harkin, entered office 24 years ago with a net worth of $400K and is leaving office with a net worth of $28 million. He has not even lived in the US for the last 16 years, living in the Bahamas "for tax reasons". Tom Harkin is a lawyer.
The last thing the state needs is another lawyer in the Senate who will "represent their interests"!
It appears as though Braley has effectively ended his chances for the Senate.

Hooray- let's help trial lawyers in Texas with a liberal, lawyer senator from Iowa. Gee............ I thought senators were supposed to represent citizens of thier state (a state with many farmers) and not lawyers from other states!
I would hope that video footage makes it into a campaign ad against Braley.
He's the perfect caricature of what today's elected Democrats are: entitled, elitist, overbearing, alcoholic snobs who think they're smarter, better, and more educated than everyone else. The fact that he's an ambulance chaser is just icing on the cake.

I have no doubt Braley has even less respect for the average working Iowan than he does for Grassley. To people like Braley, we are just livestock to be manipulated for their own personal gain.
