Richard Lamm is a well-known nativist and populist, and his views as expressed (indirectly) in the speech are predictably extreme.
I agree that a country ought to have one official language for government business. Beyond that, his predictions of doomsday are pretty hard to take seriously.
If the point is that Lamm, democratic governor from Michigan, is a prog who "let the cat out of the bag," then the OP is wrong.
If the point is that Lamm's speech is a recitation of the "prog" agenda, for which he secretly exposed an agenda, the response would not be to call him a nut, but to question the link between "progs," this guy, and the stated agenda.
Believe it or not, multicultural balkanization and importation of poverty by way of immigration actually works AGAINST progressive goals, and makes them much harder to achieve.
Lamm is the former governor of Colorado. He's a nutcase.
