Their minimum wage laws are much more comprehensive than ours. It is true they do not have one flat minimum wage for all like we do, they have a min wages for all industries. A min wage for teachers, a min wage for bus drivers, min wage for iron workers, min wage for computer programmers etc

Nah. That's a bad idea. Really bad.

As trite as it is, I.get the whole "government is bad" thing.

But if government can't look out for the interests of the workers that provide the funding for its very existence, then what's the point of even having a government?

Next thing you'll be saying is "get the government out of government." It's gotten THAT ridiculous.

Federal setting of a minimum wage isn't that big of a deal.

They have strong unions and every student comes out of the educational system with either a trade or a university degree. A nation composed of educated and skilled people does not need a minimum wage.

Nobody graduates school without a marketable skill in Europe.

Yep, I'll vote for a conservative the day they want to bring us closer to being like Germany, perhaps the most successful country of our time (for its size). I'm not gonna hold my breath though, it would require a complete flip on their party values to actually support most Americans.

Corporations in this country have few barriers on their power here.
I wonder what the lobbying industry is like in those countries?

Then you are not for that system. Collective bargaining is mandatory thus why they have a national system of collective bargaining, instead of minimum wage, that is the only way it works.

China -yes to a certian degree.

The rest do not adhere to socialist ideals except in Healthcare.
Otherwise their economies are based on private enterprise.
