The question of whether or not it will destroy jobs hasn't been debunked.
The question of whether or not raising the minimum wage will improve the quality of life of those making minimum wage, however, has been resoundingly debunked by history. The current proposal to raise minimum wage to +/- $9 per hour would put minimum wage at the inflation-adjusted level that it was at in the mid-1980s. I don't recall people making minimum wage in the 1980's as being anything other than poor by economic standards, but hey, if it makes you feel better to "do something to help the people", even though you aren't actually doing anything to help the people, more power to you. Just remember that once the dust settles and the wage market adjusts, people making minimum wage will still be making minimum wage and will still be poor by economic standards.
We are asking companies to bear the burden of the minimum wage increase the same time they are having to abide by the Obozocare mandates. You liberals and Democrats have no concept of business or economics. Your idea is as long as businesses can barely survive its good enough and on with the socialist march. My grandparents lived in a socialist country and I am descended from LEGAL immigrants. I am certainly not falling for your socialist lies.
We want businesses to thrive here in America, not just eke out survival.

I made minimum wage in the 1980's, I was poor, but not dirt poor like people today that make it.
