Shanesha Taylor is facing charges of child abuse after leaving her 2 young children in a hot car while she went for a job interview. Amanda Bishop has organized a fundraiser to help her out. Do you want to donate?

Reason: solicitation
I don't agree with what she did, but I don't see what choice she had.
Can't pay for child care, don't have anyone to help, need a job to take care of your kids...what would you do?
Leave them alone in the streets?
I have adopted two kids who's mother was living in the street. If you cant take care of them, the state takes them and gives them to someone who can. Why is she any different?

From the impressions I have gotten from the story, and she hasn't spoken a lot about it, is that this was sudden and expected to be temporary if she got this position. She seemed positive she was going to get the position and be able to return to life as it was. Life where she was taking care of her kids as she felt best.
People with souls don't give their kids away at the drop of a hat.
I'm not going to donate, but I do feel for her. She shouldn't have left the kids alone in a car, and should face consequences for that choice. But at the same time, she's not a total loser, either. She wasn't just sitting back, waiting for a welfare check. She was trying to get a job, trying to better herself. This seems like a good example of a person who could use a hand up, not a hand out. I hope she gets probation, and some mandated parenting classes, and eventually, her kids back with information about community resources that might help her out if faced with a similar situation in the future.
It wasn't a hot car, either.
Edit: I just read the post right above mine, with its link, which states that the temperature WAS over 100. If that's the case, I'm going to judge a lot more harshly. The initial report I read on this stated the temps were moderate, though. Either way, not something I condone, but it's a much worse situation at 100 degrees vs 65/70.

Because you live in a house. She lives in her car. Had she gone to the state i would be pretty sure they would have taken her children from her.
