The idea of "Paying your debt to Society" and being able to get on with your life died out long ago.
In the world of today, that "debt" can NEVER be paid, society will not allow it! Depending on your offense, you will never get away from it, and may, in fact, have to register with the police for the rest of your life, AND be limited in where you can live and who you can associate with!
I'm not saying it is right or wrong, just that it appears to be a fact.
So, be very careful about taking that box of paperclips home from the office! It could ruin your life!

So...you know someone who has to register for taking paper clips???
None of that will get you hard time....or, a felony in most states.
I know that, but the poster I was responding to said "criminals." People who are convicted of misdemeanors are criminals as well. People who receive probation are criminals as well.

good thing he isn't the potus, no ex criminal would ever get employed no matter how minor of a conviction they had under the belt.. he would ruin this country 100 times faster than Obama!!!
i think that people that go to jail were not doing well with the job market before jail.
the problem of getting & keeping a job is ongoing and probably was a factor in them going to jail in the first place.
