First off, James Conca, the author of this post claims 30+ years researching the field so he must have some insight into this. He sites an IPCC report that says:
The report lists many potential negative risks of development, such as direct conflicts between land for fuels and land for food, other land-use changes, water scarcity, loss of biodiversity and nitrogen pollution through the excessive use of fertilizers (Scientific American Biofuels Might Hold Back Progress Combating Climate Change - Scientific American).
Me? I've long believed that we need to find another source for biofuels other than corn. Millions depend upon it for their daily subsistence and we Americans have little idea of just how important it is to the foods we take in daily.
And from Al Jazeera America comes this: Study: Fuel from Corn Waste Worse than Gasoline @http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/4/21/study-doubts-biofuelsclimatebenefits.html

My title is much more entertaining. Sure to cause hate and discontent.

Its also much more misleading considering that bio-fuels are only one source of "green energy" along with wind, solar, hydro-electric, tidal, geothermal etc.

Well at least their is no free taxpayer money to be made if you are on board with the man-made global warming scam.
The conclusions deal a blow to what are known as cellulosic biofuels, which have received more than a billion dollars in federal support but have struggled to meet volume targets mandated by law. About half of the initial market in cellulosics is expected to be derived from corn residue.
So, one billion dollars eh? And that's just cellulosic biofuels, which leaves billions more for all the other green energy cronies.

Yup, a billion in free taxpayer dollars for you, a billion for you, and another billion for you, and... oh what the hell, billions in free taxpayer dollars for everyone involved in the green energy scam, yippee!!!!

Why I said the environazis will be outraged. They have banked everything on biofuels only to have that blow up in their faces.
The ethanol subsidy was eliminated unless you want to count the farm subsidies. The only thing propping up the ethanol industry now is the mandate which guarantees a market for it. Get rid of the mandate and it will disappear overnight.
