In "due time?" Is this the same "due time" that your civil war is relying on? Because if that is the case, I will die of old age before Silicon Valley dries up. I don't see any of those tech companies moving away any time soon, and with the amount of money in that area, there is no proof to back up that claim.
Also, most of those cities on your list are a part of the Rust Belt, so I am not really shocked.
Funny how those "unregulated financial markets" only effected liberal strongholds, like Detroit, while every other city has thrived under those very same "unregulated financial markets."

Umm, Birmingham is just fine financially. However the county it sits in is not. Jefferson County (which is controlled by Republicans), filed for the largest municipal bankruptcy in US history up until Detroit.
