Facts really seem to be a nuisance for you don't they.... Furthermore, Texas has a larger economy than does New York.. Texas is second only to California, and we are closing in on that number as well....

Don't show me press articles, show me data that proves that New York City has lost population or business.
Either show me the data or admit you're clueless, which we already established long time ago.

Someone in this discussion is clueless, but it certainly isn't me... You have been proven wrong repeatedly on virtually every topic of discussion on this board. Data has already been posted, which you have chosen to ignore, yet you do nothing to substantiate your own position. Not once have you posted anything other than your uninformed opinion. Yet when proven wrong, you continue your rant as though you have proven a fact. The only thing you have proven is that you wasted your daddy's money on the education you were supposed to get. What did you spend it on?

In addition to the census numbers - which show New York is the biggest loser in the country for population and Texas is the biggest, seems as though most red states are gaining.

Quote:
The 2010 Census data was released today and the reapportionment of congressional districts alone is attracting attention, as PostPolitics reported:

Republican-leaning states in the South and West that experienced a population boom over the past decade will gain political clout, while some historically Democratic states in the Rust Belt will lose it, according to Census Bureau figures released Tuesday aimed at ensuring proportional representation in the House.
Eight states will gain congressional districts, including five that backed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for president two years ago. The big winner was Texas, a state that routinely backs Republicans for president. Its population has swelled by about 21 percent since 2000 and as a result will add four House seats.
Of course, the blue states aren't doing well with population - they keep on losing more and more.
Quote:
Conversely several northeastern states which trend Democratic will lose seats after the 2010 Census. As Greg Giroux and Tomothy Homan explained:

New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania will lose political influence in Congress over the next decade, as job losses in the region contributed to slower population growth, according to government data released today.
2010 Census results: Winners, losers and everyone in between

Which facts are wrong. New York State is shrinking and major companies are leaving. New York City isn't going away and is a financial powerhouse - but it's barely holding its own.

But between 1990 and 2000, NYC grew by about 10%. Between 2000 and 2010, it grew by less than 200,000 people. A significant decrease in the growth rate. More important, the median income fell. More people in NYC live in poverty today than in 1990.

I got those facts from City-Data.

Again, empty claims and no data to support them.

NYC economy:

The New York metropolitan area had a gross metropolitan product (GMP) of approximately $1.28 trillion in 2010.

Texas economy:
In 2011,Texas had a gross state product of $1.332 trillion,[15] the second highest in the U.S

1.28T vs. 1.33T. The entire state of Texas, even with its oil has virtually the same size economy as NYC lol
