Because the Obamabots likened them to Beelzebub and the uneducated masses believed them.

The tea party has shown itself to take a foundational stand against any compromise that goes against their agenda. They sign pledges to never raise taxes for any reason whatsoever. They shut the government down if they don't get their way. They consider deception, obfuscation, duplicity and outright lies to be acceptable tactics in destroying their political opponents. They have no agenda to fix the challenges of the nation. Their only agenda is to destroy the political fabric of the nation and the current administration.
I consider them a national, fascist evil, akin to the brownshirts of Germany back in 1933.

You asked.........I answered..............To bad if you don't like the answer.
When did the liberals compromise when Obamacare was being debated? Never. If they did there would have been at least some republican votes.
When have the radical left wing compromised on their global warming position? Keystone pipeline? Never.
How about cooperation on congressional investigations, like the targeting of Tea Party groups by the IRS? Never.
Do illegal actions from an imperial president jive with compromise with an opposition party?

You don't really stand for compromise, you want the right to cave to the left and you can't stand it that the Tea Party will never cave on the Constitution that your elected party has sworn to uphold but won't.

Who's interpretation of the constitution are you referring to? Certainly not the Supreme Court's interpretation of the Constitution, as that's the one the current administration is adhering to.
Must be the Kitchen Table Tea Party version of the constitution you want everyone to follow or you'll take your marbles and go home or ruin the nations credit rating.

"Tea Party supporters tend more likely than Americans overall to be white, male, married, older than 45, regularly attending religious services, conservative, and to be more wealthy and have more education"

old, rich, white guys who are into religion are the exact opposite kind of people I align with

My experience with the sort of people who gravitate toward the tea party organizations is that they are counterfeit libertarians. That is: freedom for me, but not for thee, if you're gay, Muslim, atheist, or anything that contradicts their antiquated ideas of God-fearing normalcy.

Easy one--I intensely dislike hypocrites, and that is what many tea party types are.

The person who is termed as 'the first tea party member' (and the tea party is against socialism correct?) Mary Rakovich, stated that she needed a hip replacement but was waiting for medicare to kick in. Huh?

The tea party government shutdown--pure hypocrisy. They wasted $24 billion of taxpayer money but did not care.

Jenny Beth Martin - Tea Party national co-ordinator. Preaching fiscal prudence, she used to clean houses and was on the verge of bankruptcy. Now as chairwoman of the super PAC, Martin sets her own $15,000 monthly fee for strategic consulting. She also draws a salary as president of the Tea Party Patriots’ nonprofit arm, getting more than $272,000 in the 2012 fiscal year, according to the group’s most recent tax filing, putting her on track to make more than $450,000 in 2014.

They have rallies during which racist comments are made, and racist signs are held. Then they try to claim they are not racist. Geez-at least be honest.

They are arrogant and holier-than-thou. They act as if they are the only people in the entire country who care about the constitution or government. They think that they alone channel the founding fathers and know their intentions.

They use "primary" as a verb and threaten politicians with it. They threaten politicians to do their bidding, or else? That's the Mafia. As we have seen recently, that is not working out very well for them.

They look up to Sarah Palin. No explanation necessary, although interestingly enough, she thinks Paul Revere was 'ringing bells' to warn the British they weren't going to take away our arms and that North Korea is our ally. They celebrate ignorance.

They are the furthest right fringe of the conservative movement. I disagree with everything conservatives believe, because it is always wrong. It always has been and always will be. They have a track record of zero, so why should I support their ideas?

Then you will have no problem listing them.

I did. I disagree with everything the Tea Party stands for. They don't really have a policy formula for anything other than cut taxes and regulations by any means necessary. That does not help the country or the economy. Quite the opposite, actually.

I am a Republican and I dislike the Tea Party. They blew it when they forgot about smaller government and low taxes.

I wish we had a Pete Du Pont or Jack Kemp today.

We should stick to smaller government, low taxes, personal responsibility, and freedom. By freedom I don't mean only the things I agree with.

Stay out of bedrooms. I am not gay. I am not pro gay. But I don't care what someone else does in the privacy of their own home.

Abortion, as much as I detest it, is the law of the land and it ain't going anywhere.

Obamacare is here to stay. If we get the majority we can fix parts but it will never be eliminated.

Obama was born in the USA. Do we have to hear the whole thing all over again(from the Dems) with Ted Cruz?

If we got rid of the Tea Party and Religious Right I am sure enough independents would come over to take their place.
