Can we please give it a rest ? Do you people realize how you are trivializing you're selves? If you idiots were really genuinely concerned about Hate, you would shut up about the whack jobs showing up at McCain Rallies, which the candidates have no control over, and you would direct you're attention to Obama who willingly embraced, befreinded and cooperated with an ADMITTED KILLER! Is that not HATE?

Nothing new in 2008, enjoy some US History:

Thomas Jefferson proclaimed himself champion of the common citizen, but pro-John Adams papers said he represented "cut-throats who walk in rags and sleep amidst filth and vermin." Jefferson's camp alleged that Adams had two mistresses specially imported from England. Adams's camp made an issue of Jefferson's affair with one of his black slaves and warned that he would legalize prostitution. They also charged that Jefferson favored adultery, incest, and the spearing of children. Not quite the dignified image of our Founding Fathers that you gleaned from textbooks.

Andrew Jackson's supporters nicknamed John Quincy Adams "The Pimp" because he introduced the tsar of Russia to a young woman, with whom the tsar later had an affair. They also charged that Adams had installed "gambling furniture" in the White House (he had bought a pool table). From the president's followers came this mature rejoinder: "General Jackson's mother was a COMMON PROSTITUTE brought to this country by British soldiers! She afterward married a MULATTO MAN, with whom she had several children, of which number General Jackson IS ONE!!"

The election of 1876 (if you believed the dueling campaign literature) came down to a choice between an alcoholic, syphilitic con artist (Samuel Tilden) and a man so venal he robbed corpses on the battlefield during the Civil War and once shot a gun at his own mother (Rutherford B. Hayes).

In short, American politics was never an elegant debating club guided by the values of Miss Manners.

The current campaign of 2008 is downright civil in light of history.

I chuckled at the 'spearing of children', that was especially over the top...

Obama's connections are much more hateful and contemptuous than anything ever said at a McCain rally, and I think we will see a reflection of this on election day.

Yeah, the left can threaten to riot, but find a few kooks on the right and all of a sudden, REPUBLICANS ARE RACISTS..

You're all kidding right? I mean really.

Have you even read the objective reports on his associations with Ayers?

1. As a political newbie, the incumbent Senator hosts a party for him at Ayer's house. Senator tells Obama where to show up, Obama shows up.

2. They serve on a board together. Ever serve on a board? No? Well, you don't develop any kind of personal relationship with most of the other members. Resume filler stuff or, if you're committed, you at least try to limit the amount of time that the board activity steals from your day job and family life.

3. They both worked on the Annenberg education project, which involved a lot of people, Democrat and Republican and was considered fairly mainstream.

I know you all can read, because you all can write. Now prove you can think. Go to Ayers/Obama at factcheck.org. It's all laid out there-- at length-- in black and white. Everything.

FactCheck.org: "He Lied" About Bill Ayers?

One headline from their analysis for people who prefer Cliff Notes: "Groundless, False, Dubious"

Funny thing is that I seen FactCheck get some facts wrong.
They only post current facts as what they know now. When it's uncovered then we'll soon find out about the friendship they both had...

Great fact-checking, cohdane. Rep for you. The ultimate irony: The Annenbergs were best buds with Ronald Reagan & Annenberg's widow just endorsed McCain. So, I guess that makes McCain a FOT (friend of terrorists).
