I understand your POV. Not sure what prompted this thread of yours though.

One thing about the Uber*******s in the Bayarea though is the amount of great restaurants that seem to congregate in thier sphere of influence. I make trip into the Belly of the Beast at least once a month to get some and get out so to speak.

Nope. I'll boycott companies because of their environmental policies, but places? That would be silly.

Most of the nice places (in terms of weather, topography, things to do) in the U.S. are in Blue states or Blue areas (West Coast, Chicago, Northeast, Hawaii).

The only Red state /areas I can think of wanting to visit would be Alaska and the numerous national parks in the Rockies.

Visit? No
Live? I might.
Why would I want to live some where that I completely disagree with? I refuse to live in the Wyoming/ Lakawanna Valley area because of the absolute corruption. I still visit friends there on occasion.

I won't go to Mexico due to the police corruption. There have been a few cases of Americans getting tossed in jail just because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Granted it is relatively rare, but that hardly matters if you are the victim rotting away in a Mexican prison.

There are plenty of other places to go for vacation; Mexico is off my list.

Boycotting an entire area over political issues seems to be a liberal thing. Remember the boycott of Arizona?

I try to avoid rural and especially east Texas and the SE US. With all of the overt bigotry in those places I don't feel safe there. I guess that is not truly political but there is a clear association of the right with that kind of thing.
