I've never heard the expression "flat-footed" except when it literally refers to flat feet. What does it mean as an insult?
Means no or limited action when presented with a situation.
For example, a news conference is scheduled and the topics are decided before hand, yet a reporter throws a question out that catches the answerer off guard or flatfooted.
Let's just take that objective news source, the Weakly Standard's word for it.
In a short blurb they make an assertion and point to a John King video which makes the same assertion but doesn't say which Democrats. That's not journalism. I am sure with 1/3 of the nation full of Democrats one can find a few to say anything.
We have no idea whether John King simply made up his story.
"Maggie Haberman," said King turning to a panelist, "that's what strikes me, what democrats are saying privately in the wakes of the healthcare.gov problems, they see a president who doesn't want to take command, doesn't want to act fast. Raising the competence question. Some Democrats, who believe in government, [are saying] this White House doesn't appear to have its hand on the lever."
Haberman of Politico agreed, cited more examples, and added: "All of this adds up to somebody who just doesn't seem at all involved."
I've been saying this since 2009. I have started many threads to this effect. My conservative colleagues all across the country have been saying this all along, as well.
It's the intellectually inferior liberals....the apathetic idiots on the left.... the mental midgets of society......who don't have the capability to see that this President is absolutely worthless and has not one single leadership bone in his body.
Barack Obama is worthless. It's heartening to know that at least a handful of liberals are finally seeing this and acknowledging this. But it's too bad that so many people are so functionally illiterate in so many ways.

It means "no bounce"....no rebound....no hit the ground running. It means that Barack Obama hit the ground with a thud and stayed there.
