The GOP called for the head of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki ultimately resulting in his resignation. However, it is impossible to provide free healthcare benefits to our veterans without appropriate funding. Due to two endless wars, the number of our veterans has skyrocketed!

In the decade since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, 2,333,972 American military personnel had been deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan or both, as of Aug. 30,2011. Of that total, 1,353, 627 have since left the military and 711,986 have used VA health care between fiscal year 2002 and the third-quarter fiscal year 2011.

In February, Senate Democrats pushed a bill on expanded veterans’ benefits. It would have expanded VA health care access, tuition assistance, and job training. But the Republicans blocked it!

Particularly, will these three senators please resign?

Quote:
In February, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said the bill had “good elements,” but he was principally concerned with the “cost issue.” Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) said the efforts to help veterans “cost more than our kids can afford.” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) argued against the proposal by saying, “We are $17 trillion in debt.”

Richard Burr is a slippery eel, but has managed to score a weak opponent each time he has been up along with a fairly Republican year. He is not all that great a senator and I think he will be in trouble come 2016.

The fraud was that waiting times were down and people covered up the fact that they need more money.

They covered it up !

I thought waiting times were up, significantly.

Apparently the democratic senators recognized the need for more funding.

Yep. It's kind of like the GOP shutting down the government and then whining and complaining that the government was shut down. There is a total disavowal by the GOP of the cause and effect of their actions.

What else is in those bills? The way I see it is that the dems put something in the bill the repubs would not vote for.....knowingly. ..

So tell me...how does it feel to not support the Soldiers?

No. These places got bonuses if they got their waiting times down.
And they did but by fraud, not improvements to the system.

Ask Rubio, Burr, and Graham how it feels to "not support our Soldiers."

Doesnt the o.p. recognize politicians in both parties are always blameless and never resign?
Yet they would give them more power in a heartbeat.

Quaint response to minimize culpability of your friends in the senate.
