There seems to be a huge disconnect between gun owners and anti gun people when it comes to firearm related polls or surveys.

If you were asked to participate in a survey or poll either in person, by phone or whatever about firearms in your home would you be honest?

Depends on who is asking.

For a little more clarification, certain anti-gun folks around here keep throwing around survey results showing gun ownership as fact and I tend to believe that people who own guns for self defense don't always want other people to know that they do and they wouldn't always tell the truth to someone asking for a poll or survey.

How do you feel?

No. Now if there was say a university that I knew was completely neutral and wanted real answers I would participate and answer truthfully.

If it was a group looking for a specific result I would answer in a way I thought was counter to what they were looking for whether I believed it or not.

If I got a random phone call, then no, I would not answer honestly.

Surveys are not very reliable in my opinion.

Then again, every time I see a suggestion box at a business I always write "More Cowbell" and stuff it in.

I don't personally own any firearms and I wouldn't lie about it. There are a couple where I'm living for hunting or targeting shooting. Someday I'll probably buy a firearm for target shooting, and I wouldn't lie about that either.

I don't really get this question.
