Medical marijuana patients who are 65 and older could soon get discounted medical pot cards.

The Arizona Department of Health Services, which oversees the state's medical marijuana program, wants to slash card prices by 50 percent for seniors, veterans, and those who receive Social Security and disability payments.

Medical marijuana: Seniors, vets may get discount cards
Wonderful! Maybe their prices will be competitive with the black market.

Marijuana does not kill brain cells like Alcohol does. At worst, they'll be dumb for a short period of time and recover. Alcohol and cigarettes on the other hand, are a bigger problem in terms to dumbing down the population.

Many seniors have lot's of money. I really don't get the "senior discount" mentality. We have it where I work, we are phasing it out.

But I think that opens them up to law suits claiming they promoted smoking. All smaking is bad for lungs and can cause cancer afterall.

There are dozens of ways to consume pot without smoking.

It's the same as discounts for other medicines.

After living to be that old or serving in a war they deserve a little Mary at the end of the day.

Default Seniors and Veterans Will Get 50% Discount on Marijuana in Arizona

As both a senior and a veteran, I approve of this policy!

Actually, they did not receive COLA's in 2010 & 2011.

The state is considering offering a 50% discount on the $150 cost of the card, a discount that is already offered to those on Food Stamps. There is $9 million in the fund that they have received from purchasers of the card so they are considering broadening the discount of the card. Not a big deal.
