No, when black parents can afford 50k to send their child to private school that's "Black Burden"

Maya has been reported in the press to be a young, privileged, black, gay woman who enjoyed the greatest of educations this country has to offer, including being elected president of her class.

This young woman epitomizes what is wrong with the way many black people view white people, in my opinion. I am beyond tired of the racism of black people towards white people.

But in any case, i'm not gonna get up in arms about nonsense at some prep school. Besides, she seems pretty happy with what she did or said and doesn't seem to mind resigning. Guess she feels that it was worth it.
My impression from the quotes I did read was that she was being rhetorical, a bit satirical and socially awkward, like you'd expect from an inexperienced high school kid. In no way did I take what she said seriously. In my opinion, the only way you could have taken offense, is if you were walking around with a chip on your shoulder, looking to be offended.

I came from a poor immigrant family, I don't think my parents even made $50k a year combined...at least not early on in high school.
She could be on scholarship.

She seems too smart for the culture within which she is, at that school.

The school lost its token?

Her proposition may have been, "Merit versus Appearances".

I'm surprised she wasn't holding a polo mallet, but then, maybe she WAS the mallet.

SCORE!

Probably a game of values.

Or, Genuine Pretensions.

So then it would be OK for a white male student body president to dress up like a black female? Bling, gold teeth, pregnant and not sure who the baby daddy be? That would simply be truthful, right?

According to the press, her family paid the full tuition. Does that make a difference?

The worst part is what she did wasn't clever or funny or even worthy of attention. If you're going to take it on the chin like she did, at least make it worthwhile. Throw on the KKK triangle hat, and really set social media on fire. What a missed opportunity.
