The GOP-controlled house even passed a "Respect state marijuana laws act." This was led by libertarian-oriented Dana Rohrbacher (R, CA) and Justin Amash (R, MI). It was about 'medical' mj but could have been used as the basis for a legal solution to the problem instead of the illegal (IMO) bypassing of Congress that the Obama admin opted for.
Let me get this straight.
There is a move in Congress to respect state legalization of marijuana, but in the meantime you want Obama to have the DEA and FBI continue kicking down doors and shooting people?

Is that right?
Well, conservatives do want him to enforce all laws to the letter...
0bama views the legislation passed into law by the Legislative Branch exist to merely offer suggestions and ideas, which the president can adopt, amend, delay, reinterpret or reject, as he sees fit.
Come on, now -- presidential overreach isn't a "Democratic" thing. Almost every president starting with Washington has expanded the power of the office.
Well clearly as u said pot and large clips being illegal are both idiotic laws, but looking at our 'representitives' I'll digress.
I personally think it's perfectly OK for the President to bypass them if he has to. Congress is so worthless most of them probably need to be taking out to a play field and shot with 30 clip mags... but who knows. Everytime I say they can't get any dumber, guess who gets elected to Congress?
This here is your statement of disregard for the Rule of Law.
There fore the President's lawlessness is of no consequence to you either.

Not really. I want law to be enacted by legislators, overseen by courts, and enforced by the executive branch, in accordance with the constitution, and with the founders vision of checks and balances.
If the law is determined by the whim of the executive branch, over time the last thing we will have to worry about is the feds kicking down our doors for pot, because we will be on the road to serfdom (or perhaps we're already there).
Dems are going to find out if they're ok with a Republican dictatorship in a few short years.
That's what was said when the PATRIOT Act was passed. Actually, there were quite a few times I wondered if Republicans thought they'd hold the office forever.

So what do you want Obama to be doing right now with respect to recreational marijuana use where it has been legalized by the states?
