So should we expect to see more economic sanctions by the White House on Russia if they are found to be involved?
but will the whitehouse do the same if its proven that Ukraine did it...the freaking Nazi Ukrainians are animals...and our fascist liberals are all for supporting them...go figure

Millions of Russians also starved. By the way, a Georgian named Stalin did this, why blaming Russians? Why not blame Georgia for this?
Didn't Crimea remain a Russian naval base after the break up of the USSR? Who knows what else may have been left behind in the former SSR that is Ukraine? Especially considering how old some of this technology is. People in the US have put together things like F-104s, T-38s, AV-8s, etc. by scouring aviation junkyards 'til they had all the parts they needed, I wouldn't doubt a similar situation exists in Russia and the surrounding former SSRs.
Ukraine's military lost a pretty advanced SAM system (BUK) to rebels overrunning one of their bases early in the conflict.

My personal opinion is that the Ukrainians shot the plane down on accident thinking that it was a Russian bomber.
Shrug - it's a thought, but there's just one side that has been downing planes in this conflict so far.

Actually, the pro-Russian rebels appear to have said a lot of things today, starting with triumphantly declaring that they shot down a transport plane, then claiming that they don't even have SAMs. So now it's "We have SAMs but can't find the crews"? Shenanigans. In fact, a poorly trained crew would fit this pattern nicely.
