Lol, Vermont has not implemented its single payer system yet.....and most likely never will.
Uhh, no. The single payer bill was passed by Vermont voters only recently in 2011. The only thing holding it up is Obamacare, which requires every state to create an insurance exchange. They are working with the feds to customize the exchange to work with the new state law. These things take time. Major changes don't happen overnight.

Right, like I said...there is no single payer law right now in VT, period, none. It was passed on paper only. I live in NH.....next door to VT. The reason the law is not enacted is because they don't have the money for it. You don't know what you are talking about. There is NO time-table to put single payer in play. Wiki says, in your link, it might not be until 2017, if at all, when VT implements the law. Read your own links. You said it was working NOW. You said VT has single payer & it's working. You made it up.
52 million Americans on Medicare many of them conservatives seem to love Medicare...
10 million Veterans served by the VA love VA care many also conservatives.
10 million more Americans in the services served by Tricare seem to love that government system.
At least 60 million Americans and arguably most vote Republican love gubbermint health care. If its good enough for conservatives isnt it good enough for the rest of us?
So....what's this have to do with me correcting the poster on a mistake ?

Still, single payer has already been proven to work in the US. Its called Medicare.
And the current private insurance-based system, has been proven to be an utter failure and not to work.
(Other than for lining the pockets of the insurance execs, its very good at doing that).

Don't you think you should tell everyone how you plan to pay for those first?
The Trustee's Reports were released for SS and Medicare in late July. I take it you didn't read those. If you had read those you wod have seen that under their optimistic outlook just SS and Medicare HI will be taking up about 24% of taxable income and even more money will be pulled for the other welfare programs which was 41% of of federal expenditures in 2013.
Anyways, I'm sure the money fairy will be along any moment now to sprinkle you with her green love. When she gets there ask her how the ROW is doing and how much she'll be visiting them as resources get more scarce as time goes on.

Without innovation the carpenter and everyone else gets to kiss their ass goodbye.
Yup, and all the innovation in the world doesn't mean squat if it is barely accessible to the people. To be considered to have good health care, the servies must be both effective/innovative and actually accessible.

Except for, say, dental, vision and certain medications or if you happen to be lucky enough to get sick at the end of a fiscal year where there's no money left. Then all you have to do is wait or get substandard services.
