Should blind people be barred from owning a firearm? Furthermore, should blind people be barred from carrying a firearm in public??? I've participated in a lot of gun debates on a lot of forums, and there is skepticism and division amongst even the most ardent gun rights supporters on this issue.
Imo, Dom Raso, a former US Navy SEAL, get's it right when he says we must start on the side of freedom when analyzing individual Rights.
Watch this short video as he makes a compelling argument for why we should leave the Rights of the blind alone when it comes to guns.
Common sense would tell you, that currently, there is no restriction on blind people owning firearms, and even carrying them in some places, and yet, we do not seem to have a big problem with blind people accidentally shooting people because they couldn't see.
Common sense would tell you that if there isn't a problem, don't try and fix it.
I don't know. I am not sure I want blind people with a loaded gun. To many times have I seen idiots with two perfectly good eyes shooting at things they didn't need to, and being stupid with a weapon. I wouldn't want blind people behind the wheel of a car, or the trigger of a gun. If they want to shoot one, go to a range where a trained professional can help you.
I ask people who support stripping 2nd Amendment rights away from the blind if we should strip away the 1st Amendment rights away from the deaf
What a strange question to ask in retort.
