I agree. Why are they supporting illegal immigration? Answer: To shore up flagging church attendance, priests, nuns. If the people coming over the border were Baptists, the Catholic Church would be silent.

Anybody who acts like Christianity is "dying" will only be disappointed. Explain the evangelical mega churches that continue to boom? It might be a lower "percentage" these days in the US due to more people and immigrants from non-religious asian countries.

Speaking of Asian countries, Christianity continues to grow by leaps and bounds and is said that it will be the worlds most Christian nation in 15 years.

China on course to become 'world's most Christian nation' within 15 years - Telegraph

Most of China is still backwards and poor.

It will not catch on with educated Chinese.

As soon as their poor move into the Middle class, they will chuck it too. Especially as they begin to realize that it's really a white man's religion anyway.
As for the mega churches, that's simply a response to suburban sprawl and superstar preachers.

Megas are not an indicator of Christianity becoming more popular.

A white man's religion? Oh please. And being middle class and educated doesn't mean you can't be a Christian.

Look how much the Assemblies of God are growing. Faster than the US population. And its becoming more and more diverse. There are a lot of Spanish Assembly of God churches around these days.

The AG's U.S. division grew more than twice as fast as the American population in 2012 (1.8 percent vs. 0.7 percent), gaining almost 54,000 adherents to now number nearly 3.1 million worshipers at more than 12,700 churches (up 127 from 2011). (Worldwide, the AG gained nearly 1 million adherents in 2012 to surpass 66 million.)

It is also increasingly diverse: Today, only 59% of U.S. adherents are white.

Such growth makes the AG increasingly distinct from other major Americans denominations—including the Episcopal Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and United Methodist Church—that continue to face steady declines.

So? One sect growing doesn't mean the overall popularity of Christianity is growing. Ignore it, but religiosity is dying in this country.

Its not just one sect growing:

Non-Denominational churches are growing sharply and they tend to be biblically conservative in general:

Nondenominational Church Attendance is Growing Sharply | Insights into Religion

Mormons are also growing:

Mormonism Is The Fastest Growing Religion In Half Of U.S. States According To 2012 Religious Congregations And Membership Study

The percentage of Christianity is shrinking due to the population growth and a wider set of beliefs, but in absolute numbers, churches are still growing whether you like it or not.

Churches are doing no more than consolidating the already converted Christians.

But more people aren't turning to Christianity in this country in net numbers.

How many churches are closing?

Skepticism turns into outright criticism after a while...and then the dominoes start falling.
I'm not so sure...I did a bit of reading on this and there is a Bishop from St. Louis I think...he said his new priests were very conservative and attracted a bigger crowd at mass....

When I got to church each week I constantly hear about "social justice"...you know where I first heard the term "social justice"..it was in college watching films of Castro after he took over Cuba..he bragged about "social justice"...i.e. Communism....well..how did that work out for them?...

I think most Catholics are Conservative...but the Church has become more Liberal..just look at the current Pope and his dislike for Capitalism....how dumb is this guy?....

The problems with gay priests and the refusal of the church to deal with the attacks on kids is a perfect example of Liberalism run wild in the Church....the never ending failed idea of redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor despite it's total failure...

If the Catholic Church wants to survive it needs to become much more Conservative and embrace Capitalism and reject Social Justice i.e. Socialism....

I live in the burbs and there are many Catholic Churches...but are having problems attracting people..why?...to me..they have become too Liberal...their message each week about "social justice"...stop by our "social justice" learning center...give us more money for overseas...it's a failure....people today work very hard for their money and are tired of giving it to failed ideas....the Pope spoke out against Capitalism why? What system has uplifted more people out of poverty?...social justice?..i.e. Socialism?....
