The difference between 1962 and today, besides having a mentally ill President with access to the nuclear football, is we have concentrated economic and political power.

When times are good for our 1 percent, this makes control very easy. It also makes targeting quite easy: were a nuclear war to occur, only two would really be necessary to take the US down.

We used to have local and state power centers across the country. We used to have local banks. We used to have local food production and distribution networks. People used to buy their groceries with their own money.

In 1962, were NYC and DC to be taken out by nuclear weapons, life would have gone on in the rest of the country. With concentrated financial and political power comes great vulnerability.

Is anyone can give a reasonable idea on why are ukrainian soldiers fleeing to Russia if Russia allegedly want to invade Ukraine?
Entire Ukraine Military Brigade Abandons the Battlefield and Surrenders to Donbass Militia | Global Research

400 Ukrainian soldiers cross into Russia | New York Post

And meanwhile there is alot info on the ukrainian and russian websites about Ukrainian soldiers who don't carry out the kievan junta orders. They don't trust the kievan authorities.

And here are some unknown pictures of the russian "invasion" :

Uh; word was Russia did some real nasty things to the Ukrainians before WW2 and Russia CONTROLLED the old East Germany, Poland and some other countries till about 20 years ago. So I def DON'T see any reason to believe a thing that Russia says that's shaky at best. Like its meddling in the Ukraine in 2014.

Let me guess... Famine?
First of all, the faminine was happened on a few different territories of the USSR simultaneously including a big part of Russia and Kazakhstan, not in Ukraine only.
Secondly, the vast majority of the commissars who were guilty for it were ethnic Ukrainians.
(And by the way, Stalin was georgian. Khrushev and Brezhnev were Ukrainians).
Thirdly, my grandparents were born in Ukraine and they experienced this famine themselves. But they never said it was a selective policy to the ukrainians only. It was a nation-wide disaster.

Russia had no choice to not doing it. Otherwise, those countries would have been controlled by her agressive enemies right on her borders. And today everyone can see a good prove of it. NATO and all the western warmongers are trying to circle Russia using every pretext that based on a perverted misinformation of the controlled (by them) media outlets and their blatant falsifications.

I am from Ukraine..
Russian soldiers really crossed the border with Ukraine.. in eastern Ukraine is war.. my friends are dying in the east.
The new government continues to deceive people, to take bribes.
Nothing has changed after the change of government. Only price increase, war and instability

And you expected something else?

Ask the Greeks what happens when western bankers 'save' the country via massive loans.

You'll understand what the US, EU and IMF have in mind for you.
