"Guys, guys, guys—if Cory Gardner gets his way, you better stock up on condoms," a female narrator says in the group's TV ad. A young man is shown frantically searching through empty wrappers for a new condemn while his female partner looks on disappointingly from the bed.
This ranks up there with one of my all-time favorite political ads by a local politician here in Washington state. A candidate sent out flyers charging that his opponent would 'let the chickens roam free.'
Landreau (D) LA--people in the south are racist and sexist. Since the same "people in the south" have elected her twice previously, I'm not sure where she was going with the remark. Maybe she just mean "Republicans in the south"--but she didn't clarify.
Politifact is wrong because they dont know what COry Gardner defines as birth control, nor do they know what the law would actually affect for that very reason.
Quote:
As we’ve noted in past articles about the debate over personhood, some legal scholars and the medical community have cautioned that it could potentially impact access to birth control.
Gardner’s critics may have a point that some forms of birth control could be outlawed if personhood measures became law -- but that shouldn’t affect condoms. That’s because condoms prevent sperm from reaching the egg in the first place. No fertilization ever takes place.
The Republican running for Governor believes that the thing women pout inside of them that stops the sperm from reaching the egg(cant remember the name) is an antiabortion.
This is politifact showing their true colors again, arguing in the most defined of terms while openly admitting they could be wrong.
Suppose for the sake of argument that Cory Gardner believes in his heart that condoms should be made illegal (we have no indication of that). As a lone US Senator, he would not be able to get that enacted into law, and there would be no need to "stock up" on condoms as the ad states.
