That's cost of "doing business" as a society. The American low-taxing system will shortly prove unsustainable.

Total cost of her education? A little over $26,000.
I don't mind paying a little more in taxes so our kids can have a decent education. I don't mind paying so that new moms can have a year off to bond and care for their infants. I don't mind paying so that she can afford daycare when she does go back to work. I don't mind paying so that every Canadian has access to healthcare.
We just don't get that "every man for himself" mentality.
Doesn't seem to be working out so well in the US, does it?
It certainly does for some.

Ours aren't so different from yours.

Do Canadians Really Pay More Taxes Than Americans?

The key word is "some". Slavery also worked for "some", mainly the owners, didn't it?

Ya for sure. The USA would rather spend their money on keeping millions locked up in jail. Fighting the never ending war on drugs, militarizing all the LEOs, watching most of the largest cities become urban wastelands, watching the ever growing divide between haves and havenots and an entire host of other problems created because of the default RWNJ position the country takes, instead of offering some sane solutions to what ails the country.

It will come eventually or get ready to become Mexico north.

The cost is too high then. Belgium taxes you at 50% on income above €36,300.

You aren't in Europe. We have a rotational program that allows you to tranfer to another office for up to 3 years. Out of curiosity I looked into Belgium... I couldn't believe their tax rates.

Is Canada an option for transfer? I suspect you'd really like it here.
