The United States has conducted more than 150 airstrikes in Iraq against ISIS, and Secretary of State John Kerry has said nearly 40 nations have agreed to contribute to the fight against the militants. But it remains unclear which countries are on that list and the precise role they'll play.
On Sunday, Kerry said countries in the Middle East are willing to help with strikes against ISIS, but he said on CBS' "Face the Nation" program that "it's not appropriate to start announcing" which nations will participate and what each will do.
150 in 30 days which means we're doing 5 bombings a day.
And that's just what they tell us.
I doubt they have many .50 caliber rifles, and I doubt you have fired 18 000 .50 caliber rounds in a year. France is already flying their jets over the area, so the ammunition is not their only contribution.
I'm sure they supplied a good quantity of white flags.
We did not actually have enough troops on the ground to take the north. Had we done so the Chinese would have gotten involved with ground troops, without enough of our own there we could not have won.
Correct. That is why I suspect there was an understanding that we could prosecute the war south of the DMZ and China would not intervene. I pointed out at the time when we had 500,000 combat troops in country that the Chinese could raise a standing army of 100 million if necessary. With our standard ammo issue 0f 200 rounds we couldn't afford to miss with a single bullet.

I didn't say I shot 18,000 .50 caliber rounds. I said I shot at least 18,000 rounds in the past year.
The point being that if one person (myself) can shoot 18,000 rounds in a year, then 18,000 rounds is diddley-squat when bragging about arming an army who will be facing a well-armed terrorist group.
Do you realize how fast it is to fire 180 rounds out of one gun? 360 rounds? 500 rounds? That's less than 2 hours of fun at the gun range where there's no need to actually shoot back at someone who's shooting at you!
Interestingly, obama thinks it's spelled ISIL and also thinks they aren't Islamic.
The "L" is for Levant, which describes several countries in the eastern Med that are vulnerable. It's broader than IRAQ and Syria.
ISIS is an ancient Egyptian Goddess. It is also the brand of some companies, including a woman's outerwear company. Talk about an unforeseen public relations disaster. Kind of like the weight loss candy that used to be sold under the brand of " Ayds/Aids".
Why do you suppose neither the Mulsim nations in the immediate vicinity nor the Europeans are nearly as amped up over this as we suddenly are?
Exactly...if the nation-states who live in or near the threat don't want to get involved, why should we?
