American citizen Matthew Todd Miller was sentenced to six years of hard labor by the North Korean Supreme Court for committing "acts hostile" to the country, North Korean state media reported Sunday.

When the 24-year-old arrived in North Korea as a tourist on April 10, he tore his tourist visa and shouted that he would seek asylum and that "he came to the DPRK after choosing it as a shelter," according to North Korea's state-run KCNA news agency.

Earlier this month, Miller told CNN's Will Ripley in Pyongyang that he "prepared to violate the law of DPRK before coming here. And I deliberately committed my crime."
This guy is just a sad sack looking for attention. He didn't even explain what his motivation was. He intentionally committed a crime with the intent of getting arrested. And now he expects help for the US government. It's not happening. Seems like a guy who could use some hard labor anyway.

Good! Damn fool can rot there. We should do absolutely nothing to intervene on his behalf. He wanted to see North Korea, so now he'll get a good long look. Same goes for any American stupid enough to go there.

Or get caught trespassing in any country that is hostile to the United States. How stupid can you be? Like the idiots who got caught in Iran a few years ago.
