American citizen Matthew Todd Miller was sentenced to six years of hard labor by the North Korean Supreme Court for committing "acts hostile" to the country, North Korean state media reported Sunday.
When the 24-year-old arrived in North Korea as a tourist on April 10, he tore his tourist visa and shouted that he would seek asylum and that "he came to the DPRK after choosing it as a shelter," according to North Korea's state-run KCNA news agency.
