Please list history worthy accomplishments of the GOP.
You weren't around for the Watergate hearings were you? They took up TV everyday for months on end. I would say that was quite expensive.

The worthiest accomplishment of the GOP is slowing down the damage done by incompetent and destructive Democrats. Over the time period you reference the nation has become more and more liberal. Over that time period the nation has seen mounting debt, mounting drug use, increased mental illness, increased illegitimate births and broken families, decreasing median income, declining education, massive influx of illegal aliens, massive increase of regulations, increase in corrupt public sector unions, increased attempts at curbing free speech, increased attempts to deny 2nd amendment rights, etc.

It's all well and good for liberals to retreat to their "minorities have more rights" thing that they continuously brag about - and I do not deny that minorities do have it better, nor do I deny that that is a very good thing - but the rest of what liberalism has accomplished is a society declining on almost every scale imaginable.

At some point the GOP may reverse this decline, but for right now trying our best to slow the damage you do to everyone and everything but minority rights is what we strive for.

Exactly. This is just another reach around thread from the op and his gang of merry leftist kooks. He couldn't care less about an actual, honest discussion. Just another troll thread.

Interesting that you bring this one up seeing it paved the way to reducing the reliance on coal in this country in an attempt to clean our air. I would think you wouldn't be too happy about Republicans doing something like this.

Republicanism was useful when it was about efficiency, restraint, separation of church and state, and civil rights advocacy. What has ruined my party in the last 30 years is the cynical and purely exploitative religionizing of it, which has given rise to this modern version..... the moralizing busybody.

The most obvious accomplishment IMHO is the separation of the working class from the upper class via Regan ' s tax cuts to the top 10%. Which led to pitting half of the working class against the other.

Also:

Spreading the urban legend of a fictional "Welfare Queen" that Regan made up but has become ingrained in our lexicon.

Immigration reform by Bush that opened the floodgates to the mess we have now.

The failed "war on drugs" that wasted billions of taxpayers' dollars.

The failed "war on terror" that wasted billions of taxpayers' dollars.

The failed "efforts to impeach" that wasted (at minimum) millions of taxpayers' dollars.

The current "war on women" via decreased access to health care, vetoing equal salary bills, and sllut shaming.

The 2000 election scandal.

Dan Quayle

Sarah Palin

Rush Limbaugh

Gerrymandering in their own favor.

Decreasing access of minorities to vote.

Hollywood actors for president and governor.

The idea that "homosexuality is a sin."

"Reparation Therapy"

Fox News

A science committee that overall could not pass high school chemistry and believes in the immaculate conception.

Censored history and science textbooks.

The idea that you are a "snob" if you go to college.

Opening trade w China so that we could import "cheaper materials" which led to factories in the US closing.

Enacting sound environmental protection laws of Bush and yet lowering the standard of those laws every year under a GOP led Senate.

Instilled paranoia in those already susceptible to it that "the government is coming for your guns! "

Etc

Etc

Etc

Etc
